HOW THE LAWSUIT FUNDING PROCESS WORKS ...

cash for your lawsuitOur underwriters will determine a monetary value for your case, independently from what your attorney or you may think your case is worth.  We will use your case’s supporting documentation to help determine this monetary value.  In order to protect ourselves from bad investments, our valuations tend to be on the conservative side.  And our independent valuation has no direct bearing upon what your actual case may end up settling for.

Once we have determined a value for your case, we will approve you for about 10% of the value of your lawsuit.  10% is our “funding ratio”.  For example, if your lawsuit is valued at $500,000 we can advance you $50,000.  Or if your lawsuit is worth $5,000, we can advance you $500. (Occasionally, we will advance as much as 15% of what a case is valued.)

We have no maximums for what we can fund.  There is no case too big for us to look at.

But we do have a minimum.  Your case must be worth at least $2,500 for us to consider funding you.   And with a $2,500 case, according to our “funding ratio”, we could advance you $250.  So $250 is the minimum lawsuit advance we will do.

If we do approve you for a certain amount, you are not required to take the full approved amount.   For example, if we approved you for $50,000, you could choose to receive 5 monthly payments of $10,000, or one lump sum of $50,000, or any amount less than $50,000.  It’s completely up to you.  We like to be flexible and work toward your specific financial needs.

And if we fund you once, you are always welcome to request additional funding.  It’s fairly common to fund clients 2 or 3 times.  Occasionally, we have clients where we fund every month until their case settles.

Below is a list of how the Lawsuit Advance process works:

  1. You the client completes an application.  This can be done online, over the phone, via fax, or even traditional mail.  Click here to Apply Now.  On our website, our online application can be found by clicking any of the “Request Money Now” links or buttons.  Note:  There are never any upfront application fees.
  1. After receiving your application, we will follow-up with contacting your attorney.  We will need to review your case’s supporting case documentation.  Usually your attorney will fax or email this information to us.  For our most common case type, personal injury cases, here is a short list of what we like to review from your attorney:
    1. Police Report, Collision Report, Traffic Report, Accident Report, etc;
    1. Medical records relating to your accident and treatment;
    1. Proof of Defendant’s ability to pay a judgment/settlement, normally this will be insurance of some form. (The Defendant is the person you are suing.)
  1. Once we have your case documentation, our underwriters will review your request for money.  Often our underwriters will need to call your attorney to verify information or clear up any questions.  Our underwriters will either approve you or decline you.  This usually takes one to three business days for personal injury cases.  Other case types may take longer to review.  And requests for money $10,000 and above will take more time to review.
  1. If approved, we will issue a contract and fax or email the contract to your attorney and you.  Both you and your attorney will need to review, sign the contract, notarize the contract, and fax the completed contract back to us.
  1. Once we have the completed contract, we will release your money, either by a wire transfer or an over-night check.  You choose which option works best for you.

       This whole process often takes 2 to 3 days to get your money from the first time you contact us.  Weekends and holidays can delay funding.  But the most common delay arises from your attorney not getting us the requested paperwork for review in a timely manner.
